First do no harm

A 10 hour training about how to integrate pregnant people into asana classes.

Many yoga teachers feel uncertain when a student tells them they are pregnant. This course will remove that uncertainty giving you the confidence to teach people at any stage of their pregnancy safely and skilfully.

Over three sessions we will look at the anatomy and physiology of pregnancy, how to adapt common asanas and sequences. We will learn about how to keep safety as a priority without it becoming prohibitive.

Price: 300CHF

This is an area of expertise for Clare Nicholls who spent more than ten years as a midwife in the UK working with both high and low risk pregnancies and has been teaching yoga for over twenty years. It was exactly the uncertainty of pregnant people attending classes that led Clare to midwifery as she wanted to deepen and develop her knowledge and understanding of this important time in women’s lives so she could support them effectively though yoga.

Clare is a qualified Yoga for Pregnancy Birth and Beyond teacher with Birthlight, an advanced certified Jivamukti teacher and a holder of the Diploma in Yoga from The British wheel of Yoga. She has been present at over 1000 births and works extensively with yoga teachers focusing on professional development and mentorship.
