Binh Tschan

300hr Jivamukti Certified.

Binh teaches yoga through the lens of the Jivamukti method, where practice becomes both a personal liberation and a call to compassionate action in the world. Her classes invite students to experience yoga as far more than the physical: as a way of living that reveals our interconnectedness, awakens kindness, and deepens awareness of our shared consciousness.

#Ahimsa is at the heart of her teaching—thinking, speaking, and acting in ways that cause no harm, so that all beings may be happy and free. She seeks to create inclusive, diverse and safer spaces, ensuring that communities often underrepresented in Western yoga culture can access the transformative and liberating power of yoga. In this spirit, she offers the JEDI Yoga XL class (BIPOC only) every first Saturday of the month.

She draws deep inspiration from the teaching of her most beloved teacher Clare Nicholls and from the writings of Sharon Gannon and David Life, whose teachings on compassion and kindness gave her a sense of home.

Off the mat, Binh is a human rights lawyer specialized in intersectional discrimination, a gender equality & LGBTIQ+ advocate, and a member of the Expert Commission on Migration and Racism Issues of the City of Berne. Her legal and advocacy work is deeply aligned with her yoga path, as both aim to dismantle harmful social constructs and to cultivate a more just, compassionate, and inclusive world.

Voices from the JEDI-Community:

“Whenever I make it, I am grateful to have taken the time to move, think, and just be in the presence of other POCs. The song accompanied by the harmonium is my personal highlight!”

“Yoga with Binh is so enjoyable and so complete! She created a very inclusive environment where diversity is celebrated! From day 1, I felt welcome, not judged for who I was and/or what I was able to do with yoga. In fact, I had doubts about its “super power” but with Binh, I really got to realise that it was not only physical exercise but a holistic approach encompassing body and mind. I like the fact that she combines reflections, exercises and relaxation in one session!!I gained more confidence and feel better equipped to fight for social justice and racial equity.”

“Innehalten, durchatmen und die Batterien aufladen – das ist für mich ein wesentlicher Bestandteil sozialen Engagements.

Jedi Yoga ist dabei zu einer wichtigen Strategie geworden, um den Missständen da draussen begegnen zu können – indem wir Solidarität, Respekt und Empowerment nicht nur thematisieren, sondern auch einüben.”
